Licensing

Converged is fully distributed under AGPL-3.0. The entire platform source code, including Services, Surfaces, Workflows, and other modules, is open and available for inspection, use, and modification under the terms of the license.

The platform has three levels: Free, Pro, and Business. These levels do not divide the code into open and closed parts — all levels remain open source. The difference is which capabilities and modules are available to each type of user.

• Free — the core set of capabilities, available to everyone.
• Pro — an extended set of capabilities for Club customers.
• Business — professional and business capabilities for Enterprise customers.

Paid levels do not turn any part of the platform into closed-source software. Additional capabilities remain open source, but are distributed as part of the corresponding platform level and are intended for the respective type of customer.

In a self-hosted deployment, users can run the Converged level available to them and retain control over their infrastructure, data, updates, and operations.

Converged's commercial model is not based on selling closed software. It is built around infrastructure, a ready-to-use environment, support, updates, implementation, and access to the capabilities provided at each level.

This approach preserves the main advantage of open source: the code remains transparent, inspectable, and available to the community, while the commercial model defines the level of service and capabilities provided to each type of customer.
